Selfridges is pleased to welcome the art of sculptor Richard Sweeney into the window displays of Selfridges.
His experimental forms, using pure white paper have inspired the theme of “Paper” carried from the Oxford Street windows to throughout the store. Sweeney, defies categorization, pursuing the realization of form through the exploration of various media and techniques of manipulation.
“My interest lies in the manipulation of material, and how best I can preserve its nature while exploring form and volume. It is the tactile quality that drives me. I find it difficult to work with something unless I can hold it in my hands, touching and bending the material to feel how it behaves.” -Richard Sweeney
Pay a visit to Selfridges Oxford Street and explore the potential of paper and Richard Sweeney’s work.
