• Rosewood veneer top introduced to celebrate the collection’s 50th anniversary of production.

  • This is a fully licensed classic.

In a 1956 cover story in Time magazine, Eero Saarinen said he was designing a collection to “clear up the slum of legs in the U.S. home.” Later that year, he completed his Pedestal Table and Tulip Chair Collection and obliterated the “slum” by creating a cast aluminum base inspired by a drop of high-viscosity liquid. These pieces went into production in 1957, and to celebrate their 50th Anniversary, every table ordered between August 1, 2007 and August 1, 2008 will ship with an anniversary medallion and a commemorative edition of the certificate of authenticity. Also honoring the occasion is a tabletop in rosewood veneer that’s harvested from sustainable resources. Due to the natural variations in the grain pattern of this wood, every tabletop will be unique and will not be identical to tables shown. The base is available in a black or white abrasion-resistant rilsan finish. Pedestal Tables come in a variety of materials (veneer, marble and laminate) and sizes (side, coffee and 35″-96″ dining tables).

Each piece is stamped with the KnollStudio logo and the designer’s signature. This table is manufactured by KnollĀ® according to the original and exacting specifications of the designer. Made in Italy.
