A Human Touch: Next stop New Zealand
The travelling exhibition of Droog Design, A Human Touch, continues its way around the globe heading for Lower Hutt, New Zealand. TheNewDowse presents this exhibition from February 19th until April 15th 2007.
Need to touch
A Human Touch reflects the Droog mentality on interaction between design and its users. Over 50 products by 40 different designers from the Droog collection are presented in the exhibition. Each product tells a unique story
and makes a personal and emotional connection with its user. The products come to life when you touch them, so feel free!
TheNewDowse
TheNewDowse and Droog Design find each other with a common wish to emphasize creative engagement and look for thoughtful solutions. The exhibition starts with the re-opening of the Dowse museum. It was
closed to the public since September 2005 to undergo a major redevelopment. The museum specially asked Droog for the first exhibition in the new building.
Official opening
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, Ms Rasha H.E. ter Braack and the Director of TheNewDowse, Tim Walker will officially open the exhibition on Monday February 19th, 18.30 hrs. The accompanying catalogue ‘A Human Touch’ is for sale during the exhibition.
Droog around the globe
A Human Touch started in China (Shanghai and Shenzhen) in 2006, moved to Taiwan and Australia and will be presented in Lower Hutt until the 15th of April. From there it is packing up again for a new adventure in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The exhibition is financially supported by the HGIS- Culture program.
